The Art of Perception – a new skill awaited to be learned.

ree

Recently I came across this interesting post on a social media website.

The Post reads as follows:

My daughter was attending her online English class today, and I observed that her teacher was roaming about in a park while conducting the course. Earlier, my wife ignored it, but she did mention this to me at the end of the class. Yesterday she got irritated. She complained to me that we should talk to school authorities and complain about her. The background noises during the session were disturbing, and it was unacceptable that a teacher takes an online class while sitting on a bench in the park. I asked her to talk to the teacher first before she escalates. Today she did that. In between the class, my wife interrupted and said that since you are roaming outside, there is a lot of disturbance, and kids cannot follow. My wife was agitated. The teacher apologized and said her mother had been hospitalized and she conducts these classes from an outside parking area near the hospital. It's a matter of few days, but she didn't want the kids to miss their classes. My wife is sitting with guilt now. Perceptions we create without understanding the real reason behind the situation lead us to such situations. What was anger now changed to respect for the teacher. Try to see both sides of the coin before complaining.

Just for second, shall we leave what the school authorities must act on this and talk about the duty consciousness of the teacher and the non-judgmental attitude of the author of this post.

One of the most important things is to see things accurately without biases, yet most of the time we see things in distorted ways because either we don’t have direct contact with the actual situations or people that they are forming opinions.

It is therefore important to Clear our Lenses of perception. It’s important to have an accurate view of people, events and circumstances…Rather than demonizing or idealizing people, It is important to realize that almost all people are simply doing what they believe is in their interest.

At the end…"It’s all about perception. How you perceive a particular individual or the situation you’re in. Yet it is always important the hear the other end of the story.”
